La zona cordillerana de
la Novena Región de la Araucanía dónde nos ubicamos, es un
ambiente natural de gran riqueza y territorio habitado ancestralmente
por el pueblo mapuche-pehuenche. El abundante bosque nativo de la
zona, está compuesto por especies endémicas tales como el coihue,
el roble, el raulí, el ñirre y la majestuosidad de la araucaría
araucana, árbol milenario y símbolo religioso para la cultura
mapuche. Este ecosistema ha sido la cuna de la sabiduría mapuche,
cuyos profundos saberes y prácticas tradicionales nos dan cuenta de
acercamientos respetuosos hacia la naturaleza y sus habitantes.

and Ecosystem
Our
home, the mountainous Region IX of Araucania, is a natural
environment of great richness long inhabited by the Mapuche-Pehuenche
people. The abundant native forest of the region is comprised of
several endemic species such as the coihue, roble, raulí, ñirre and
the majesty of the ancient Araucaría Araucana, a prominent symbol in
Mapuche religious beliefs. This ecosystem has long been the cradle of
Mapuche wisdom, characterized by profound competencies and practical
traditions that express respectful intimacy with nature and its
creatures.
